It will be remembered and talked about for years as a classic game from start to finish between two top notch Ventura County High School Football programs. Coach Todd Theirrien’s “all or nothing” gamble paid off when the Seraphs successfully completed a two point conversion after their TD in the 2nd overtime to beat the Warriors and end their 22-0 win streak. Westlake had not lost a game in almost 2 years, dating back to a CIF SS Quarter Final loss to Valencia to end the Warriors 2008 season.
The game was played in front of a packed Westlake Warrior Stadium crowd and streamed live to a record 235 viewers over the fledgling “all volunteer” production team for the WHS Football Network.
