Richard Fong

Coach Fong begins his 10th year with the Warriors. After previously serving as Varsity Defensive Coordinator for the Warriors in 1990, he returned in 2004 and served as Defensive Coordinator from 2007-2011. He prepped at Hollywood High School where he was a two-way varsity starter. He began his coaching career in 1980 at Chaminade High School and moved to Crespi High School in 1983 where he was on the same staff as Coach Benkert for six years. He left the Warriors in 1991 to become the head football coach and Athletic Director at St. Genevieve High School where he received the L.A. Times “Coach of the Year” Award in 1993. Coach Fong returned to Crespi from 1997-2001 as Athletic Director and Varsity Football Defensive Coordinator. He then took the head job at L.A. Baptist High School in 2002. In 2003, he led L.A.B. to the CIF title game. He returned to Westlake as a full time member of the Physical Education staff in 2004 and lives in Woodland Hills with his wife, Carolyn. Coach Fong will be honored this summer with the 2011 California Coaches Association “Assistant Coach of the Year Award.”

Bill Culpepper

Coach Culpepper begins his 13th year of coaching at Westlake. He served as head Sophomore Coach in 1989 and 1990 before being elevated to the Varsity Defensive Coordinator position in 1991. He prepped at Jenks High School in El Paso, Texas where he was an All-Area Selection at linebacker. He became an All-Conference player at Mesa College in Arizona and went on to play linebacker at California Lutheran University. He has been the Head Football Coach at Viewpoint High School, Clint High School in El Paso, Texas, and Chaminade High School in West Hills. Coach Culpepper returned to Westlake in 2004 and teaches Social Science. He lives in Thousand Oaks with his wife, Terri, and daughters, Faith and Bailey.

Chris English

Coach English begins his 2nd year coaching the Warrior secondary after coaching at Thousand Oaks and Oak Park HS the last few years. He was Head Coach at TO in 2005 when his freshman staff was selected Ventura County Staff of the Year. He prepped at Chatsworth HS where he was selected to the All-Valley Team. After High School, Coach English played football at College of the Canyons and served our country in the U.S. Air Force. His career path has been Real Estate for the last 27 years. He resides in Thousand Oaks with his wife, Tammy and they have two children, Trenton (22) and Madison (19).

John Goslin

Coach Goslin begins his 2nd year with the Warriors after serving as the Simi Valley HS freshman team head coach for three years. Coach Goslin prepped at Royal HS where he was honored as the MVP and All-Ventura County. He then played at Moorpark College where he earned a scholarship to Fresno State, University and was named All-American, MVP and California Player of the Year. While at Fresno State, he received his BA in Sociology and was honored as an All-Conference Defensive End. He signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos. He is an 18 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department and the Detective of the Year Recipient in 2009. Coach Goslin is a strong advocate for cancer awareness as he has battled the disease since 2008. He resides in Simi Valley with his wife, Stacey and sons Austin (a junior linebacker with the Warriors) and Tyger.

Ellis Green

Coach Green enters his 6th year with the Warriors, serving as the running backs coach the last three years after coaching the defensive secondary for two years. Prior to coming to Westlake, Coach Green worked as Assistant Head Coach and Varsity Defensive Coordinator at Hueneme High School. He has also worked as the Linebacker Coach at Camarillo High School and Secondary / Running Backs Coach at Pacifica High School. He played High School football at Moorpark High School where he was an outstanding two-sport athlete earning All Tri-Valley League honors as a senior. He is employed by the State of California and lives in Moorpark.

Steve Hagy

Coach Hagy begins his 9th year with the Warriors, three as Sophomore Head Coach and the last five as the Varsity Run Game Coordinator. He played High School Football at Agoura High School where he received All-Area recognition as a running back. He graduated from USC where he played on the baseball team. His two sons, Steve and John both played football for the Warriors. Daughter Jessica graduated from USC last year. He lives in Thousand Oaks with his wife, Aileen.

Ken Papotta

Coach Papotta begins his 6th year with the Warriors after coaching inside linebackers and special teams coordinator at Thousand Oaks High School from 2003-2006. He has served as the head football coach at Calabasas High School, Defensive Coordinator at Simi Valley High School and Varsity Assistant in 1997 at CIF Champion, Moorpark High School. He continues coaching the inside linebackers with high expectations and proven results. He prepped at Simi Valley High School and lives in Thousand Oaks with his wife, Lilanya and children Candice, Karson and Kolton. He teaches English and Financial Management at Calabasas High School and works as a Realtor with Remax Olsen & Associates in Westlake.

Ron Rescigno

Coach Rescigno begins his 14th year with the Warriors. A former New York High School Head Coach in the 60’s, Coach Rescigno brings experience and enthusiasm to the staff. Coach Rescigno has worked with the running backs, offensive line and tight ends during his years with the Warriors. He came to Westlake after three years coaching the offensive line at Mater Dei High School. He retired as the Superintendent of the Hueneme Elementary School District a few years ago and now is enjoying semi-retirement with his wife Val. they live in Westlake Village and have two sons, Ian and Eric and two grandchildren.

Curt Rothschiller

Coach Rothschiller returned to Westlake in 2011 and begins his 10th year in the program after serving as Varsity Defensive Backs Coach from 1989-1995. He prepped at Chaminade High School where he received All-Valley recognition and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame last year. He participated in the San Fernando Valley All-Star Classic in 1976. He and his wife, Debbie, have three children, Jake and Kyle are senior football players at Westlake and Brooke is a 8th grader who serves as water girl.

Eric Shackelford

Coach Shackelford begins his 11th year with the Warriors. After coaching wide receivers for six years and serving as Offensive Coordinator the last four years, he moves to the defensive side of the ball. He prepped at Culver City High School where he played quarterback and defensive back. He was a four year letterman at the University of Akron where he played defensive back. Coach Shackelford came to Westlake from Notre Dame High School where he coached Varsity and JV Football. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University and is a teacher in the WHS Math Department. He lives in Thousand Oaks with his wife, Monica, son, Cory (who is a junior volleyball player at Westlake) and daughter, Nia.

David Romano

Coach Romano begins his 1st year with the Warriors after coaching the offensive interior line at California Lutheran University the last five years. He was the starting junior center on the CIF and State Championship Warrior team in 2003. He moved to Pennsylvania for his senior season and was selected to the All-Area Team. He continued his playing career at Cal Lutheran University. He is a member of the Warrior Hall of Fame.

Damon Jones

Coach Jones prepped at Rio Mesa HS where he played for former Westlake Head Coach, George Contreras. He was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year during his senior year. He went on to play at Moorpark College for two years. He manages a group home in Ventura for teenage kids. He lives in Camarillo and has a summer wedding date to marry fiancé Lauren. He has a foster daughter, Esmeralda.

Tim Triplett

Coach Triplett begins his first year with the Warriors after 30 years coaching youth football, freshman, sophomore and varsity level players. He was a three time All-Conference and All-County WR/DB at Lenoir High School in North Carolina. Coach Triplett continued his playing career at Western Carolina University as a DB. He founded AMSI Software and was named entrepreneur of the Year by Merrill Lynch, Inc. Magazine and Ernst & Young in 1994. He sold AMSI to a public company in 2004 and is now CEO of Smart Estate Investments, Inc. in Thousand Oaks.

Mitch Dellibovi

Coach Dellibovi enters his second year with the Warriors after coaching the Freshman and Sophomore Football Team at Simi Valley HS for six seasons. He has coached both running backs and linebackers in his seven years of high school he lives in Simi Valley with his wife, Sandy and two sons who plays on the WHS Freshman Team.

Brad Porter

Coach Porter prepped at Medway High School in Massachusetts where he was a standout defensive back. He continued his football career at Southern Connecticut State University and St. John Fisher College (NY) where he earned Special Teams Player of the Year. He earned his B.A. Degree in Communications and Journalism in 2006.

Kyle Boas

Coach Boas begins his first year with the Warriors. He graduated from University of California, Berkley last year and immediately began working as a loan officer in Westlake Village. Coach Boas assisted the football coaching staff for four years while he attended Cal, working with quarterbacks and wide receivers.

Tony Mekari

Norm Hames

Coach Hames is entering his 14th year with the Warriors, serving as both freshman and sophomore head coach during his tenure. He was a three year letterman at Chula Vista High School where he played defensive back. Before coming to the Warriors, Coach Hames coached and served as President of the Westlake Braves Youth Organization. He and his wife Kim live in Westlake Village and have five children, David, Kevin, Mallory, Justin and Brandon. Kevin and Justin both played for the Warriors.

Tim Kirksey

Coach Kirksey played WHS 1991 Season with MVP, Outstanding Back, and Gibbons Award Honors. Has coached all 3 levels at WHS over the last 9 years. Lives in Westlake with wife Amy and his beautiful daughters Ema, Lily, and Halle. Coach Kirksey was honored this year after being selected into the WHS Football hall of Fame.

Ryan Dyer

Coach Dyer graduated from Westlake High School in 1995 where he was an All-Marmonte League Defensive Lineman and recipient of the Braves Scholarship. Coach Dyer started coaching at Westlake in 2001. Coach Dyer lives in Westlake with his beautiful wife Katie and his two children, Jackson and Jordyn.

Darin Erickson

Coach Erickson is a graduate of Lake Havasu High School where he was a leader on the Varsity Football, Wrestling, and Track Teams as well as an All-Conference Offensive Lineman. Coach Erickson teaches in the Science Department at Westlake and is the club moderator for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Campus. he lives in thousand Oaks with his beautiful wife, Cheri, and his sons, Kyle and Jordan.

Dennis Ray

Coach Ray prepped at Chatsworth High School where he was an All-League and All-City Linebacker. He continued his football career, playing at Long Beach State University and Weber State University. Coach Ray looks forward to building the Lacrosse program at Westlake High School as the school’s first head Lacrosse Coach. Coach Ray lives in Thousand Oaks with his beautiful wife, Michelle, and four sons, Dylan, Devin, Brennan, and Bryson.

Kris Kirksey

Bryan Hill

Coach Hill comes from Rio Mesa High School where he played as a Defensive Back. He resides with his wife, Denise and their two children, Austin & Ashley in Camarillo. He played for Westlake and won CIF SS Championship in 2003.

Steve Rodriguez

Jimmy Miller

Coach Miller graduated from Westlake High School in 2004 after a stellar career with the Warriors. His 2003 Team won the CIF, State and National Title after a 14-0 campaign that included wins over Notre Dame (CIF Div III Champion), Hart (CIF Div II Champion) and St. Bonaventure in the CIF Championship Game. He accepted a full athletic scholarship to USC and graduated in 2009. He is a member of the Warrior Football Hall of Fame.

Erik Holcomb

Coach Holcomb was a wide receiver for Westlake in 1992 and received a scholarship to UCLA. He currently resides in Oak Park with his wife Jennifer, who was his high school sweetheart and their two children, Kasey and Michael.

Scott Kirksey

Coach Kirksey was a member of the Marmonte League and Ventura County Coaching Staff of the Year in 1993. He was a three-sport letterman in football, basketball and baseball at Canoga Park HS. He went on to star on the baseball field at Anderson College, Indiana where he was the MVP of the League. He lives in Arizona during the off season with his wife, Sandy. Sons, Tim and Kris both coach on the Freshmen Staff.
